Fereydoun Esfahanian, Head of the Referees Committee at the Football Federation of Iran, said the Referees Committee has put the issue on the agenda and the system will be pilot tested at Azadi Stadium [the biggest sports complex in Iran].
The VAR system was used in both 2017 and 2018 World Cups.
Using cameras which are installed through the field, the technology enables referees to minimize mistakes, with nothing escaping their eyes.
Also, whenever the referee is doubtful, before giving his opinion he can consult the system.
