World's cheapest cord blood bank in Iran

Orumiyeh, Oct 27, IRNA – Head of Royan Stem Cell product development manager said on Saturday that Iran’s cord blood bank is the cheapest in the world and of high standards, and sells products to different countries in Europe and Americas.

“There are currently 102,000 reserve cord bloods in the bank, one percent of which belongs to other countries' people, including Canada, UK, Turkey, Azerbaijan Republic, and Iraq,” said Ashkan Mozdgir.

“Royan’s international offices in Iraq and Mascut along with domestic branches take and store cord blood samples,” he added.

“Keeping a sample costs some $1,700 for foreign participators which is still much lower than other countries, especially European ones,” he added.

Cord blood can treat over 80 types of blood and neurological diseases.
