Ossetia's antiques are Iranian: Russian researcher

Tehran, Oct 25, IRNA – What I have found in the past 40 years radiates Iranian features, said an Iranian-Russian archeologist.

'Some stone antiques have been found in Ossetia that are like those found in Zagros [western Iran],' said Nazem Hejrati on Wednesday evening.

Addressing the meeting of 'Relations between Iranians and Ossetians,' Hejrati said the items are exact replicas of the Iranian ones.

He added that many Ossetian myths are very similar to the Iranian ones.

Alan Avadati, Vice-Chancellor of Ossetia university in international affairs, said in the meeting that the Persian Language Department was established in 1999, the Persian Language and Culture center was started in 2014, and the major 'Iran in the Contemporary World' kicked off in 2018 in the university.

Meanwhile, Morteza Reznanfar, a member of the Research Center of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran, said in the meeting that Ossertians regards themselves as Alanis and Iranians.
