WHO welcomes socialization of health in Iran

Isfahan, Oct 24, IRNA -- Iran's Deputy Minister of Health Mohammad Hadi Ayazi says the new Iranian approach to socializing health and attention to NGOs has been welcomed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“The World Health Organization (WHO) is one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations that plays the role of organizing authority on global health, and was founded in Geneva in Switzerland in 1948,” said Ayazi on Wednesday.

He said the Social Affaires Department had been formed in his ministry since the past two years and the measures taken in that connection have been praised by WHO.

He emphasized that the organization's assessment of the socialization of health in Iran in 2018 is 'desirable,' stating that Iran, as one of the five successful countries in health socializing in the community, attended WHO's Geneva meeting in April to provide the report and present its experiences.

Ayazi reminded that the meeting of the ministers of health in the Eastern Mediterranean region will be held in Iran next year with the presence of 21 countries and will report on the actions and experiences of Iran on social and health promotion.
