Iran freestyler grabs bronze in Hungary World Champs

Tehran, Oct 23, IRNA – Iranian freestyle wrestler Alireza Karimi in the weight category of 92kg received a bronze medal in World Wrestling Championships which is underway in Budapest, Hungary.

Karimi defeated his rival from Georgia in qualifiers match.

He earlier hit wrestlers from Argentina, Azerbaijan and Russian and advanced to the semi-final match.

In the semi-final stage, he was overpowered by American wrestler and received a bronze medal.

Karimi had earlier received a bronze medal in 2015 World Wrestling Championships which was held in the US.

More than 850 wrestlers from 97 nations are competing to win one of the 30 world titles in freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling, the United World Wrestling (UWW) website reported.
