Iranian negotiator to visit Moscow: Agency

Moscow, Oct 22, IRNA – Senior assistant to Iran's foreign minister Hossein Jaberi-Ansari will visit Moscow on Tuesday, a Russian official said.

The Iranian diplomat will talk with senior Russian officials during his stay in Moscow, President Vladimir Putin's special envoy for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov told Russia's Sputnik News Agency.

Jaberi-Ansari is also Iran's senior negotiator on Syria. Tehran, Ankara and Moscow are known as the guarantors of peace in Syria.

Iran, Turkey and Russia have been the main players in the Syrian talks, known as Astana process. They are trying to find a way for putting an end to the eight-year war in Syria. The three players have managed to gather the representatives of Syrian government and oppositions under one roof.

The talks are regarded as the most effective step toward establishing peace in Syria.
