Iranian lawmakers, Brazilian officials discuss issues of interest

Tehran, Oct 21, IRNA – Members of Iran-Brazil parliamentary friendship group met with Brazilian authorities in Brasilia on Saturday in the framework of expansion of parliamentary ties.

According to a Sunday report, the Iranian three-member group met with the Brazilian Secretary of Government Carlos Marun, Minister of Labor Vieira de Mello, and Deputy Minister of Sport.

In the meeting, they discussed different issues including: how to use parliamentary ties to expand trade and commerce, export technical and engineering, expand cooperation in medical fields, and enhance sport relations, including Brazil's help to Iranian soccer and Iran's help to Brazil's weightlifting and martial arts.

The possibility of cooperation with Brazil's Cruzeiro soccer team and Iran in different age categories was also discussed.

The Iranian delegation also met with the Speaker of the Brazilian Parliament Rodrigo Maia in Rio de Janeiro, and also made a visit to the western state of Rondônia to meet Governor Confúcio Aires Moura, traders and industry owners.
