The governor of Khoy, referring to hosting of the governor of Van of Turkey and 17 Turkish officials in recent days by Khoy, added, “Combating drug trafficking, human smuggling and terrorism, combating organized crimes and illegal immigration are among the provisions of the cooperation agreement.'
Seyyed Mohammad Abadi added that the increase of trade exchanges and the development of joint border markets in Razi of Khoi and Kapikoy of Van, as well as the development of tourism infrastructure, are among the other articles of the contract.
He stated that Murad Zur Oglu, the governor of Van, pointed to the common enemies of Iran and Turkey at the border points, and emphasized the exchange of information and joint border operations to combat them.
Governor of Khoy continued, “Accelerated completion of the operation of terminals on the borders, in order to increase cultural and economic exchanges, was also foreseen in the contract”.

Urumieh, Oct 20, IRNA -- The governor of Khoy city of West Azarbaijan Province of Iran and governor of Van Province of Turkey have signed a security and economic cooperation agreement, entitled Fifty-second Security Sub-Committee Contract.
