Murder of journo outcome of US support for Saudi regime

Baku, Oct 20, IRNA - The head of the Authors' Union “Pen” of the Republic of Azerbaijan said the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate is the result of American policies in support of the Saudi regime.

In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday, Gurbang Gibraeel, pointed to the visit of US President Donald Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia last year and the announcement of comprehensive support from the Saudis, and said, 'While supporting the Saudi regime, it makes Saudi Arabia play a major role in creating some terrorist groups like al-Qaeda in the Middle East.'

Azeri commentator, said, “Mossad and the Zionist interference in the murder of the Saudi journalist is now raised, and Israeli author Yousse Mellem has said that Khashoggi opposed to close ties between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.

Gibraeel pointed to the close Saudi-Israeli ties, “As noted by Panamanian documents, Salman bin Abdul Aziz spent $ 80 million on Benjamin Netanyahu's 2015 election campaign.”

He also noted that the Saudi regime was in command of Washington's orders, saying, “Riyadh is currently bombarding Yemen and threatening Iran with these orders.”

The head of the Union of Writers of “Pen” of the Republic of Azerbaijan also noted that over 10,000 people were killed and over 50,000 were wounded in Yemen following the armed aggression of Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies, and 8.4 million Yemeni citizens were suffering from hunger and starvation and the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen aroused the scandal of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia
