Pakistan’s hydropower projects offer vast opportunities to Iranian investors: Envoy

Islamabad, Oct 20, IRNA - Consul General of Iran in northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar says keeping in view Pakistan’s growing energy requirements, Iranian investors can invest their money in country’s hydropower projects.

In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Muhammad Baqir Beigi, said Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province provides golden opportunity for investment in hydropower sector.

He said that Iran and Pakistan enjoy strong cordial relations in all areas. He added that excellent people to people contact exits between the two neighboring countries.

The diplomat said that private sectors of Iran and Pakistan should come forward and contribute to further strengthening of bilateral ties by initiating joint projects.

He emphasized that Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has good opportunities for investment in various fields and Iranian investors can invest their money in province’s hydropower, oil and gas, agriculture, petrochemicals, food and other infrastructure projects.

Baqir Beigi went on to say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has large reserves of minerals and Iranian entrepreneurs having good experience in the sector can also invest their money in different projects related to natural resources of the province.

He added that the province is also a good market of carpets handicrafts, tiles, cement, so the Iranian businessmen can benefit from the vast opportunities available in the KPK area of Pakistan.
