Iran, Armenia hold talks to broaden ties

Moscow, Oct 18, IRNA – Iranian and Armenian officials in a meeting in Yerevan discussed ways to widen mutual cooperation.

The meeting was held between Iran’s Ambassador to Yerevan Kazem Sajjadi and Governor of Ararat Province, 42 km southeast of the Armenian capital, Garik Sargsyan, news about the meeting is reported on Thursday.

During the meeting, Sajjadi called for further relations between the two sides’ provinces in the areas of agriculture, animal husbandry, fish-breeding and tourism.

Ararat governor, for his part, voiced his province’s readiness to host Iranian delegation in the near future to follow up the process of implementation of mutual agreements.

Sargsyan has recently travelled to the northern Iranian Province of Gilan. Armenia is Iran’s northwestern neighbor.
