MP: Hostage-taking forbidden in Islam

Zahedan, Oct 17, IRNA – Iranian lawmaker and representative for Ahl-e Sunnat in Khash and Mirjaveh Ali Kord said on Wednesday that in Islam's view, hostage-taking is oppressing the innocent people and is forbidden both in Islam and according to ethical values.

Speaking in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), he said that the terrorist groups, wrongdoers and supporters of criminals try to set a blow to Islam and Iran through such inhumane and heinous measures.

Pakistan should not let terrorist groups inside or outside of the country to commit such sabotage acts and move freely, he said.

He called foreign ministry, interior ministry and the country's diplomats along with religious leaders to take immediate action for the release of border guards kidnapped by terrorists in east of the country.

Fourteen Basij (volunteer forces) and border guard forces were abducted by terrorists on Tuesday morning in Iran's Sistan-Balouchestan border with Pakistan.
