Abductors of Iran border guards to receive IRGC tough answer: Cmdr

Semnan, Oct 17, IRNA – The task was not a big one and will receive the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps' severe response, said the IRGC's commander in Semnan Province, West of Tehran, on Wednesday.

'The enemies' spies made the border guards unconscious and kidnapped them,' said Major-General Mohammad-Ali Jafari.

'They have repeatedly tried to take control of the border police station, but didn’t prevail,' General Jafari said.

'Enemies of Iran led by the US, the Zionist regime and Saudi Arabia have plans and made investments to reach their ominous goals, and we foiled most of them.'

Fourteen Basij (volunteer forces) and border guard forces were abducted by terrorists on Tuesday morning in Iran's Sistan-Balouchestan border with Pakistan.

Following the incident, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps said in a statement that Pakistan is expected to fight terrorists and outlaws who have nested along the borders and are propped up by some reactionary and terrorist regional counties.

Measures to arrest the terrorists and to free the kidnapped are high on the agenda for the defense and security forces deployed in the border areas, said the statement.

The terrorist act is believed to be an inside job, added the IRGC statement.

Terrorist attacks are conducted in Iran-Pakistan border from time to time.
