VP urges Majlis to discuss bill for backing park rangers

Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA – The bill to support the park rangers should be discussed in the Majlis (Iranian Parliament) as soon as possible, said the Iran's vice president and head of the Department of Environment.

'The hunter that killed the ranger had already been arrested for poaching and evidently he seems to be on the run in North Khorasan Province now,' said Isa Kalantari.

He said that the rangers have been already equipped with the things they need, such as bulletproof vests.

In an unfortunate incident, one ranger of Golestan National Park, northeastern Iran, was killed and another was injured by illegal hunters early on Wednesday.
