Iranian, Chinese traditional medicines complementary

Beijing, Oct 17, IRNA – Iranian and Chinese traditional medicine have been of global importance since ancient times and they are complementary to each other, said the head of Chinese Traditional Medicine Association.

“Iranian medicine and Chinese traditional medicine and acupuncture are closely related to each other and both of them have treated people for many centuries,” said Huang Long Xiang in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

“Modern and traditional medicine are complementary, therefore, the current popularity of the modern medicine should not cast a shadow on the use of traditional medicine,” he added.

Head of the Chinese acupuncture standardization committee said, “Traditional medicine enables Eastern countries to perform joint medical and educational research projects to combine medicines and finally devise a comprehensive and more effective compound medicine.”

Huang said Chinese universities and healthcare centers are ready to accept Iranian academics to Chinese traditional medicine and acupuncture course.
