450,000 foreign students enrol in Iranian schools

Ahvaz, October 16, IRNA - According to the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to cover the foreign students, over 450,000 foreign students living in Iran were enrolled to enter the school, the Deputy Minister of Education said.

Rezvan Hakimzadeh made the remarks on Tuesday, on the sidelines of construction of a 12-classrom school named 'Mohammad Taha Eqdami' in Ahvaz, that over 320,000 of the students have enrolled in the elementary school.

Pointing out that one of the goals of the Ministry of Education is to develop a preschool course in the country, he said, 'Fortunately, in Khuzestan, we see 100 percent pre-primary school students attending school, which is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Education.'

Deputy Head of Elementary Education at the Ministry of Education added, 'This year, 8,037,000 primary school students have enrolled in the country.'

Hakimzadeh added, 'Today, we see the opening of a school called Martyr Mohammad Taha Eqdami in Ahvaz, who was martyred in a recent terrorist attack in Ahvaz, which reflects the appreciation of the Iranian people for the sacrificing their children, and a document that terrorists will not be able to disrupt the will of this nation to have independence.
