Distancing from US' improper demand will reinforce JCPOA

Tehran, Oct 16, IRNA – The more countries distance from the US officials' improper demands, the stronger JCPOA and diplomacy will be, Iranian President said.

Rouhani made the remarks on Tuesday while receiving the credentials of new Japanese ambassador to Tehran Mitsugu Saito.

He referred to the judgment of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague to Iran's benefit and also its order to the US to stop limitations against the country as important, saying despite the US' illegal withdrawal from the JCPOA, Iran is still complying with its commitments under the nuclear deal.

Iran has never been after creating tension and also unfriendly ties with its neighbors, Rouhani said, adding, 'We believe massacre in Yemen should come to an end and the problems should be solved through political ways.'

Iran and Japan have commonalities in internationals issues, he said.

The visit made by officials of both countries in various international arena, especially in the UNGA, has always been 'positive and in line with developing relations,' he reiterated.

Pointing to promotion of cooperation and joint investments between Iranian and Japanese firms, Rouhani underlined attempts to develop ties in trade, energy, petrochemical, machine making, health, environment and tourism fields.

He also emphasized facilitating issuance of humanitarian aid to Yemeni people.

Saito, for his part, called for developing friendly relations between Tehran and Tokyo.

Despite pressures and the US sanctions, Iranian and Japanese governments and firms are continuing their relations since Japanese businessmen are certain about Iran's future.

He also referred to the ICJ judgment as reflecting a positive image of Iran in public opinions.
