Iranian diplomat meets Omani FM

Tehran, Oct 16, IRNA – Senior assistant to the Iranian foreign minister on special political affairs met with the Sultanate of Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs on Tuesday to discuss resolving the Yemeni humanitarian crisis and the latest regional developments.

Hossein Jaberi Ansari, who along with his delegation arrived in Muscat on Monday, visited Yusef bin Alawi to discuss the latest developments in the region and efforts to resolve the ongoing crisis in Yemen.

Jaberi Ansari will also hold separate meetings with representatives of various Yemeni groups to talk over diplomatic efforts to put an end to the civil war in Yemen.

In earlier efforts to help change the situation in war-torn Yemen, he has also met Sweden's Special Envoy for the crises in Yemen and Libya, Peter Semneby.

On October first, Jaberi Ansari hosted Mohamed Abdel Salam, the spokesman for Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah Movement, and the two negotiated about the Yemeni peace process and ways to facilitate it.
