Iran, 'neither dangerous, nor unsafe': French tourists

Kerman, Oct 13, IRNA – Iran is 'neither dangerous nor unsafe', a group of French tourists, visiting the southeastern Iranian city of Kerman, told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

They said this was not the country they had read about.

'It's new to us. While among these people, you can feel nothing but peace,' said Antoine Reno.

Saying that their visit to the country changed radically the image they had in their mind promoted by the foreign media, he said that from the very beginning they were welcomed by the kind look of the people in the Iranian city.

He added that Kerman was the only city that fascinated them from the ground to the walls to the roofs and finally to its sky teaming with stars.

The French tourist also said that it was very interesting to them to see the people in Iran put their hand on their eyes or heart or bring their heads down a bit when thanking, saying hello and goodbye.

Another French tourist, Mylene Verger, said that the bazaars of Kerman with all those traditional goods, gold and copper ornamental stuff, and the herbal medicines had dazzled her.

Saying that the coffee in Kerman is one of a kind, she said that the city is not well-known throughout the world and needs to be introduced.
