Iran athlete wins Javelin throw bronze medal in Asia Para

Jakarta, Oct 8, IRNA – Iranian javelin thrower Ali Omidi received the bronze medal in Asia Para Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Omidi received the bronze medal in the combined class of F42-44/61-64.

He could throw the javelin 58.98 meters. Indian and Sri Lankan athletes received the gold and silver medals.

The 3rd Asian Para Games opened in Jakarta on October 6 with a spectacular 'We Are One' opening ceremony performance.

Some 3,000 athletes from 43 countries and regions in Asia are competing in the games on Oct. 6-13. The competitions feature 18 sports, including track and field, swimming, badminton, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair volleyball, and chess.
