19th Iran Telecom opens

Tehran, Oct 3, IRNA -- The 19th International Exhibition of Telecommunications and Information Technology, known as Telecom 2018, kicked off in Iran on Wednesday with the motto 'New achievements, Opportunities Ahead' with 206 domestic and 24 foreign companies attending it.

The exhibition, which was inaugurated by Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, will host domestic and foreign companies from different countries such as Italy, Germany, Poland, Russia and China.

The exhibition aims at identifying domestic capacities and introducing them to the telecommunications industry.

Presenting telecom industry achievements in new areas such as Internet of Things, cryptocurrency and developing rural communications services are among other goals of the exhibition.

Four expert meetings will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition, the first of which will be today to discuss 'Internet of Things: Opportunities and Challenges'.

The four-day exhibition is open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
