Ankara, Oct 3, IRNA – Derya Ors has been appointed as the new ambassador of Turkey to Tehran, Turkish media reported.

Professor Ors has been the head of the Ataturk High Council of Culture, Language and History.

Ors, who speaks Persian language fluently, played the role of interpreter at meetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Iranian officials.

The appointment became official when Iran approved it as the new envoy and President Erdogan signed his credentials.
