Bashir Haji Beygi Spokesman for the Blood Transfusion Organization told the Republic of News Agency (IRNA) in an interview on Monday that the event will take place concurrent with the 4th International Congress of Transfusion Medicine on October 2-4.
Haji Beygi said that 70 guests and speakers from Canada, France, Netherlands, India, Oman, Egypt, Norway, Turkey, Nepal, Pakistan, Malaysia, Germany, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mongolia and the UK will participate in the event.
He said the conference aims at exchanging information on the latest achievements in the field of blood transfusion, exploring achievements made by Iran and other regional countries in this area, addressing the challenges of blood transfusion management, connecting Iranian and foreign professionals and experts in blood transfusion science, promoting the Blood Transfusion Organization's activities and blood banks as well as improving performance of the clinicians and laboratories.
He went on to say the discussions will pivot around blood donation and blood donators, blood health, cellular products, patient blood management, hemovigilance, platelet transfusion, quality management in blood transfusion, conventional refinement of plasma, blood transfusion in crisis, Immunohematology and blood transfusion, and donation and transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells.
Haji Beygi said 12 specialized workshops are scheduled to be hold including a workshop on Aphaeresis.
