Intl. police ready to cooperate with Iran against terrorists

Karaj, Sept 30, IRNA -- Head of International Police of Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to Ahvaz's terrorist attack, said international police are ready to cooperate with Iran to fight terrorists.

Brigadier General Hadi Shirzad told the meeting of military attachés and anti-narcotics officers of foreign embassies in Tehran on Sunday that in order to confront the terrorist groups, the police in various parts of the world have announced their readiness.

'On this basis, an international case is underway to investigate Ahvaz terrorist incident,' he said.

Shirzad added, 'Coping with crimes is the duty of the police all over the world, and countries are pursuing their common goal of preventing and combating crimes.'

Shirzad said fighting crime, especially organized crime, requires serious international police cooperation, and that cooperation is needed.

'Extradition of criminals is one of the cases of police co-operation in countries that is progressing well,' he said.
