Palestinian leader lashes out at global silence on Israeli crimes

Tehran, Sept 30, IRNA- Chief of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has urged, in a recent statement, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and the European Union to punish the Zionist regime for its crimes rather than turning a blind eye to them.

According to the state-run Anatolia News Agency in Turkey, Saeb Erekat has said in the statement on Saturday the international community's silence concerning crimes committed by the Zionist regime of Israel encourages Tel Aviv to continue with its war crimes.

He went on to say the oppressed Palestinians need to be supported by the international community, and Israel must be punished.

During March of Return on Friday, seven Palestinians were killed and more than 500 wounded along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israeli-occupied territories.

Over the past months, the conflict between the Palestinians and the Zionists has ramped up.

The 'March of Return' is a series of protests held by Palestinians which have been held every Friday since March 30, 2018.

The protesters demand that Palestinian refugees and their descendants be allowed to return to their mother land, a land they have been displaced from.

The protests have so far killed 191 Palestinians and wounded over 20,972 others.
