Palestine compiles lawsuit against US in ICC

Tehran, Sept 29, IRNA- The International Criminal Court (ICC) received a complaint from Palestinian government against the United States regarding the transfer of the embassy from the occupied Palestine (Israel) to Quds in violation of the International Convention.

The tribunal issued a statement yesterday announcing that Palestine has underlined, in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, that each country is required to place its embassy on the territory of the host country, while the Zionist regime has occupied the Quds militarily and claims to rule it.

US President Donald Trump in December announced the transfer of the US embassy in occupied Palestine from Tel Aviv to Quds and the opening of the new embassy in May.

Palestine asked ICC to order the United States to withdraw its diplomats from the city of Quds by setting a lawsuit.

In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly recognized Palestine as an observer state, despite the lack of recognition of Palestine by the Zionist regime and the United States.
