Shamkhani discusses issues with India national security advisor

Tehran, Sept 26, IRNA – Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said on Wednesday that threats by Takfiri terrorism and US' financial terrorism target the life of people and government.

He made the remarks in a meeting with India's Prime Minister national security advisor Ajit Kumar Doval here on Wednesday.

The two sides discussed mechanism to expand security cooperation between the two countries.

Shamkhani underlined availibility of extensive ground for cooperation between Tehran and New Delhi and called for actualization of capacities for mutual cooperation in the politico-economic, trade and transit fields.

He called the US unilateral sanctions 'cruel, lacking legal support and tyranical' and said insistence on the issue shows lack of credit of the US diplomacy logic.

Shamkhani pointed to effective role of the national security bodies of the two countries in development of mutual cooperation.

Ajit Doval, who is in Tehran to attend ' Regional Security Dialogue' meeting, appreciated Iranians for hosting the gathering.

He added that cooperation between India and Iran, especially in the field of economy, will continue and added that New Delhi is interested in growing investment in Iran and boosting interaction in all fields.

The first meeting of regional countries' national security advisors and secretaries, dubbed 'Regional Security Dialogue', kicked off work in Tehran on Wednesday morning with presence of representatives from Iran, Russia, China, India and Afghanistan.
