Australia vows for educational networking with Iran

Tehran, Sept 25, IRNA – Australian Ambassador in Tehran Ian Biggs on Tuesday called for expansion of educational networking to meet huge demands of students seeking to continue higher education in various fields.

Before referring to the gathering theme, the Australian ambassador sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims who were target of a terrorist attack in a military parade in Ahvaz on Saturday claiming lives of 24 people and injuring scores of others.

Addressing a number of academics and business delegations in Tehran on Australian Trade and Investment Commission-Austrade’s education networking reception for a delegation of the Australian universities visiting Tehran, he said Iran and Australia have experience for half a century (since 1968) of diplomatic relations without any pause and this year is the 50th anniversary of the ties and Australia has programs to expand bilateral relations.

He expressed hope to witness further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in various sectors and educational networking in particular.

Australia is to hold several cultural programs such as movie screenings to mark the 50th anniversary of establishment of relations between the two countries.

On student placement, Australia welcomes expansion of cooperation with Iran's academic centers to ease attracting foreign students seeking to continue higher education in Iran while welcoming Iranian students in Australia and educational networking plays a very significant role to this end.
