Serbia, Bosnia condemn Ahvaz deadly attack

Belgrade, Sept 24, IRNA – Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović in separate messages slammed the terrorist attack in southwestern Iran.

In his message to Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami which was released by Serbian News Agency TANJUG, Vulin said the terrorist attack in Ahvaz reminds us of the fact that unpredictability of the terrorist attacks is a threat for people.

These incidents should reinforce our determination for confronting disasters resulted by terrorism, he added.

He also condoled with bereaved families of the victims of the sad occasion and wished immediate recovery for those who were injured.

Meanwhile, Izetbegović in his message which was received by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) office in Belgrade voiced condolences over the death of people in the terrorist attack.

He underlined the importance of fighting terrorism, saying this criminal act reminds us of our responsibility to confront terrorism everywhere.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan Province, in southwestern Iran.

“The terrorists disguised as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basiji (volunteer) forces opened fire at the authorities and people from behind the stand during the parade,' Governor of Khuzestan Gholam-Reza Shariati said earlier.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.

The Iranian government declared Monday, September 23 as a day of public mourning.
