Algeria denounces terrorist attack in Ahvaz

Algeria, Sept 24, IRNA – Algerian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Sunday condemned terrorist attack in Ahvaz, urging the international community to seriously fight terrorism.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdelaziz bin Ali Sharif said, “We strongly condemn the attack on a military parade which killed and wounded dozens including women and children.”

He expressed condolences to the Iranian nation and families of victims and wished swift recovery for the wounded.

Algeria is against hostility under any pretext and motivation and calls on all international institutes and all countries to seriously counter terrorism, he said.

At least 25 people, including women and children, were killed and more than 60 others injured during September 22 terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran. The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
