Iranian Football Federation President: Saudi Arabia, Iran case in CAS

Tehran, Sept 23, IRNA - The head of the Football Federation of Iran Mehdi Taj has announced that the Iranian-Saudi federations' complaint has been referred to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport).

Taj said Sunday that the case has been tracked 3 times for the dispute between the Saudi and Iranian football federations, and the fourth and final meeting is also held for two weeks. Of course, this case has been referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The hosting of football matches between Iranian and Saudi teams in clubs and national squads has been challenged for some time because of political differences between the two countries and the representatives of the two countries are holding direct meetings in the third country.

The supreme court sports also has more than 400 jurists from all over the world, which the Iranian delegation is intended to follow the case in Switzerland, and the Football Federation hopes to vote in favor of Iran.

Taj also said in a different part of his remarks about a trip to Switzerland, that the trip was intended to attend in a meeting of the FIFA tournament committee, which he also is a member of the committee.
