Iran summons UAE Chargé d'affaires

Tehran, Sept 23, IRNA – Iranian foreign Ministry spokesman announced that the UAE Chargé d'affaires has been summoned.

Iran issued its strong protests over irresponsible and disdainful claims made by Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, Emirati advisor, Bahram Qasemi said.

The UAE has been warned over the fact that clear support for terrorist acts by individuals affiliated with the UAE official bodies will make a responsibility for the UAE government, he added.

In the wake of the Saturday terrorist attack in city of Ahvaz, Abdulla in a Twitter message rejected the terrorist nature of the attack.

He bluntly claimed that attacking a military target is not regarded as a terrorist act.

The transition of war to Iran is an option and will increase in the future, he claimed.

At least 25 people including women and children were killed and 60 others were injured during September 22 terror attack in Ahvaz which took place during a military parade held to mark the 38th anniversary of an eight-year imposed war against Iran.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message on Saturday promised swift and decisive response to the terrorist attack.

'Terrorists recruited, trained, armed & paid by a foreign regime have attacked Ahvaz. Children and journos among casualties. Iran holds regional terror sponsors and their US masters accountable for such attacks. Iran will respond swiftly and decisively in defense of Iranian lives,' Zarif tweeted.
