Top military official: Iran to eradicate terrorists

Tehran, Sept 23, IRNA- Chief of Staff of Iran Armed Forces condemned Ahvaz terrorist attack by arrogant mercenaries, and said that the armed forces are pursuing terrorists more determinedly than before.

Major General Mohammad Baqeri said that Iran will not sit down before eradicating this heinous phenomenon.

The top general condemned the terrorist attack by the armed insurgents in the region which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of Iranians in Ahvaz city.

In the beginning of the message, the chied of staff of the Armed Forces General Staff said, 'On the verge of the pride of the defensive capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of the beginning of the sacred Defense Week, a number of insidious and evil elements with financial and propaganda support from some of the countries of the region engaged in a terrorist action and shot dead innocent people at the ceremony, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a group of our beloved compatriots; an action that militarily lacks any operational and intelligence value.'

He went on to say that this crime, which was carried out in the course of the past 40 years of treason by arrogance and their regional followers, will not influence the Iranian people's determination to defend the Islamic Revolution and its aspirations, but the evil nature of the sworn enemies of Islamic Iran will make the ranks of the Iranian nation more coherent.

General Baqeri in this message, recalled the evil positions of some regional officials who clearly talked about the transfer of insecurity to the borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and warned that while they must correct their hostile behavior towards the Islamic Republic of Iran and apologize; otherwise, the armed forces will have the right to give harsh response to their hostilities with the Iranian people at any time and place, and will prosecute criminals anywhere in the world.
