Armenian PM denounces terrorist attack in Ahvaz

Moscow, Sept 22, IRNA – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in message to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani condemned the act of terror in southwestern city of Ahvaz in Khuzestan province which killed scores of civilians.

The message read, “I grieved to hear about the terrorist attack in Ahvaz which claimed lives of many people.”

“Such anti-human acts will make us more resolute in the fight against the evil global phenomenon of terrorism,” he said.

Condemning the incident, the Armenian prime minister condoled families of victims over the deadly event and wished them patience.

At least 25 people were killed and more than 60 others injured during Saturday morning terror attack in Ahvaz, capital of Khuzestan Province, in southwestern Iran.

“The terrorists disguised as the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basiji (volunteer) forces opened fire at the authorities and people from behind the stand during the parade,' Governor of Khuzestan Gholam-Reza Shariati said earlier.

The self-proclaimed Saudi-affiliated Al-Ahwaz terrorist group claimed the responsibility for the attack.
