Bomb blast kills 7 children in northern Afghanistan

Kabul, Sept 22, IRNA - A roadside bomb blast has killed seven children and wounded five others in northern Afghanistan, Afghan news sources said.

The incident occurred in Shirin-Tagab, in the Faryab Province, local news sources said on Friday.

A local journalist in the province of Faryab published some photos of the children on social media, saying the kids were killed while playing with the explosive device.

No one has so far claimed responsibility for the incident, but local sources attribute it to the Taliban terrorist group.

Herat police spokesperson said in a statement on Saturday that police arrested two attackers, believed to be involved in the incident, at a mosque in the region.

Two light weapons and two motorcycles were also seized from the attackers, police said.
