Iraqi politician: US, Arab states' dollar failed in formation of Iraqi government

Baghdad, Sept 18, IRNA- Hadi al-Ameri, leader of the Iraqi Al-Fath election coalition, criticized apparent involvement of the United States in the formation of a major and new government in Iraq, saying that US involvement and the money of some Arab countries did not produce their favorable outcomes in Iraq.

Al-Ameri, the secretary general of the Badr Organization and the leader of the Al-Fath coalition, said on Tuesday, at a press conference broadcasted live from the Iraqi news networks, that the Iraqis were able to courageously defy the US intervention and the Arab countries' money that was used in the process of forming the future government and the large Iraqi parliamentary faction.

Badr organization's secretary general emphasized that the Iraqi political groups now have no choice but to turn to a national salvation state or to reach an understanding (the formation of an agreed government).

He warned of efforts to sabotage the formation of the new Iraqi government and insisted that there was no proper solution except for the reaching of political parties to understanding in this regard.

Al-Ameri as he said several weeks ago, would not be a candidate for the post of prime minister.

It should be noted that the current prime minister, Haidar al-Abbadi, has officially announced that he will not be nominated for his second term as prime minister.
