Iran’s Persepolis advances to AFC Champions semi-finals

Tehran, Sept 18, IRNA – Iranian football club FC Persepolis beat al-Duhail with a sensational comeback at quarter-finals and advanced to the next round.

Iranian representative at AFC Champions League in quarter-finals faced Qatari rival al-Duhail SC on Monday evening at Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital and won the match 3-2.

This is while the Qatari team had taken the 1-0 lead by the end of the first half.

The Red Army made a great comeback in the second half to score three goals and make it to the semi-finals for the second consecutive time.

The current title-holder of the Iranian Persian Gulf Pro League will meet the Qatari representative al-Sadd at semi-finals who advanced by winning another Iranian representative Esteghlal FC.

Persepolis is the current title-holder of the Iranian Persian Gulf Pro League and have won the title four times as well as two runner-ups.
