PLO : Washington's threat of Hague violation of int'l law

Tehran, Sept 15, IRNA - Palestinian Liberation Organization(PLO) Executive Committee considered the threat of the International Criminal Court (ICC) by Washington to be a flagrant violation of international law by the US government.

The Palestinian Liberation Organization Executive Committee, presided by President Mahmoud Abbas, on Saturday in a statement said that the US government by supporting the Zionist aggression that is accompanied with war crimes and threatening the International Criminal Court, prosecutors and its judges Privately are recognized as part of a violation of international law by the US government.

The International Criminal Court began its work in the Hague in 2002 to help establish and maintain world peace and security.

The statement also called on the international community to fund the UNRWA relief agency.

According to the statement, the PLO calls for the role of the UNRWA to resolve the issue of refuges, including the right to return and its support by the United Nations.

The US national security adviser John Bolton threatened to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court on September 10th.

After a cut of US $ 300 million in funding, UNRWA has suffered an unprecedented financial crisis.

In late August, Washington announced the abolition of its aid to UNRWA.
