Iran's economy needs surgical reforms: Parliament Speaker

Shiraz, Sept 10, IRNA – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said the country's economy under the current situation is in need of a series of surgical reforms.

Referring to Iran's recent economic instability, Larijani underlined on Monday that Iran is currently the target of international pressures and it is urgently required that the ailing economy is diagnosed correctly and then it is treated.

The enemies are exploiting Iran's weaknesses, but if the they are overcome, the enemies would not have any room to maneuver, the Parliament Speaker said.

He also called for easing up manufacturing process by reducing the cumbersome bureaucracy and regulations.

The Iranian lawmaker said that the economic development and boosting employment on the agenda of the supreme council of economic coordination that was held recently with the heads of the three branches of Iran's government.
