Iran speaker pays tribute to victims of 2nd World War in Belarus

Moscow, Sept 8, IRNA – Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani paid homage to Great Patriotic War monuments in Belarus which is located in Victory Square in Minsk.

Iranian and Belarusian parliamentary delegations and head of Belarus foreign policy commission accompanied Larijani in the ceremony.

In various parts of Belarus, which lost tens of thousands of its citizen in 1941-1945, symbolic memorial complexes have been created and monuments have been erected to highlight events of the most tragic and devastating war that the much-suffered land has seen.

Larijani heading a high-profile delegation had a trip to Russia to attend Iran-Russia parliamentary joint commission.

Then, he traveled to Minsk to hold meetings with Belarusian president and also his counterpart.
