IRNA calls for greater media cooperation with Indonesian media

Tehran, Sept 6, IRNA – The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) chief on Wednesday called for greater media cooperation with the Indonesian media including the country's official Antara News Agency.

The capacities of Iranian and Indonesian media should be used to develop the two countries' scientific and academic relations, Zia Hashemi said in a meeting with Akhmad Munir, a senior editor of Antara News Agency.

Hashemi said that IRNA attaches high importance to developments in Indonesia as a Muslim country which has the largest Muslim population in the world.

The IRNA chief called for establishment of joint task forces for exchange of news and photo and update of the previous cooperation agreement between Iran and Indonesia state news agencies.

During the meeting, Antara official expressed his news agency's desire to improve cooperation with IRNA.

He also called for using IRNA and Antara to introduce the two countries' academic centers as well as tourism capacities.
