Iran's interior minister heads for Iraq

Tehran, Sept 5, IRNA – Iranian Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli left Tehran for Baghdad Wednesday to meet his Iraqi counterpart and to hold talks about the magnificent ceremony of Arbaeen and border issues between the two countries.

Rahmani-Fazli headed for Baghdad at the head of a high-ranking political and security delegation.

The interior minister is scheduled to meet Iraqi interior minister Qasim al-Araji to discuss regional and border issues, as well as the rites of Arbaeen Hosseini, a Muslim religious observance which occurs at the end of a 40-day mourning after Ashura marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein ibn Ali (pbh), the grandson of prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In his day-long visit, Rahmani-Fazli is accompanied by some senior Iranian officials including Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs, Hossein Zolfaghari.
