Pakistan Speaker urges closer parliamentary ties with Iran

Islamabad, Sept 3, IRNA - Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that cooperation between parliaments of Iran and Pakistan would be further enhanced during the tenure of new government in Pakistan.

In an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Qaiser underlined the need for broadening all-out relations between the two brotherly neighbors, especially in the parliamentary fields.

Asad Qaiser said that with the effective strategy of the two governments and the speakers of Iran and Pakistan, bilateral ties would be further strengthened in all areas including parliamentary sector.

Speaker further said that Iran and Pakistan are intertwined by stronger multi-dimensional relations and hoped that the two sides will continue to expand economic interaction for promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, energy and connectivity.

He further added that Iran-Pakistan Parliamentary engagement is highly imperative for promoting peace and stability in the entire region.

Asad Qaiser said that leadership of the two countries, besides promoting joint relations, is expected to extend the expansion and joint challenges of economic activities.

He said that robust Iran-Pakistan relations are inevitable for regional peace, security and prosperity.

The Speaker said that Pakistan believes in the unity of Muslim countries, and stressed the importance of both Pakistan and Iran working together for resolution of problems faced by the Ummah.

He underlined the need for pro-active parliamentary diplomacy to broaden cooperation among the Muslim countries. He also noted that the two countries also need to move forward with consensus on matters of international importance.
