Iran, China stress boosting academic interactions

Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA- Iran's Deputy Minister of Science for International Affairs and officials from Chinese embassy in Tehran, emphasized further expansion of scientific, educational and academic interactions between the two countries.

Hossein Salar Amoli, made the remarks in a meeting with Chief of Department for Cultural Affairs of the Chinese embassy in Tehran Doo Shia Chin aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation between the two countries and the expansion of scientific and cultural interactions.

Doo Shia Chin lauded the growth of science and technology in Iran, the global position of universities of Iran, as well as the statistics of the Iranian students, especially in postgraduate education.

Iran's Deputy Minister of Science in International Affairs and Head of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Embassy of China in Tehran, during the meeting, explained strengthening the academic, scientific and research cooperation between Iran and China within the framework of the initial understanding and the plan of cultural, artistic and educational exchanges between Iran and China (2016-2019) while emphasizing the need for setting up a joint executive plan.

Exchanging professors and students, conducting PhD study opportunities in China, supporting Persian and Chinese language seats and librarian cooperation were among the issues discussed during the meeting.

Iran and China, in addition to economic cooperation, have also collaborated in the fields of science and technology and the university and the officials of the two countries have always emphasized on the development of interactions in this field. The opening of the National Pavilion and the Iranian Business Center in Shanghai, China, and the formation of the National Coordination Team and the pursuit of scientific cooperation between Iran and China indicate the efforts of the two countries' authorities to expand their interactions.
