Some 1,320 quakes jolt Iran in July-August

Tehran, Sept 1, IRNA – According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University some 1,320 quakes have been registered in Iran during July-August.

According to the report issued on Saturday, these quakes have hit the country in different locations nationwide.

Earthquake with different magnitudes ranging from over 5.8 till three Richter scales have been registered during the period, the report said.

Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
