Iran invites Oman to participate in Asia Cooperation Dialogue summit

Doha, Aug 27, IRNA - Iran's ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, invited Sultan Qaboos of Oman to attend the summit of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Tehran.

Mohammad Reza Nouri Shahroudi during a meeting with Minister of the Royal Court of Oman Khaled ibn Hilal al-Bousaidi submitted the President of Iran's invitation to Sultan Qaboos to attend the meeting.

Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) aims to provide economic development and a platform for a lasting peace through inter-regional dialogue and interaction between governments in the first place and other actors in the second place.

ACD is the most comprehensive forum in Asia, which seeks to bring together regional and national unions and associations in the Asian continent for understanding and dialogue in order to achieve lasting peace in the ancient continent. As it is said that the 21st century is the century of Asia, interaction and cooperation between the countries of this ancient continent is considered more essential.

The membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Asia Cooperation Dialogue was approved by Third Ministerial Council of member states meeting in China on June 20, 2004, and the 9th meeting will be held in Tehran next month.
