'I hope that besides diplomatic relations, banking and economic relations will be developed and elevated between us as neighbors,' Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah said in a meeting with Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor Valiollah Seif.
The Omani minister welcomed establishment of a joint banking committee between the two states to remove obstacles hindering promotion of financial ties.
He referred to Iran and Oman cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical fields, and stressed importance of banking relations to facilitate cooperation in other economic fields.
Bin Alawi also stressed use of Iran and Oman's national currencies in trade exchanges.
