Iran's veep to visit Iraq on Wednesday

Tehran, March 7, IRNA – Iran's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri is departing Tehran for Baghdad on Wednesday to meet with senior Iraqi officials and visit holy sites in the neighboring country.

In the three-day visit, Jahangiri will head a high-ranking delegation comprised of political, economic officials.

He is scheduled to meet Iraq's President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Salim al-Jabouri.

The meetings will focus on the latest regional and international developments, as well as solutions for bilateral cooperation.

Visiting the holy Shia Muslim sanctuaries in Karbala, Najaf and Kadhimiya are also on his itinerary.
