So-called supporters of human rights infringe UN Charter: Iran senior official

Tehran, Jan 31, IRNA – The so-called advocates of the human rights in today's world are contravening the United Nations (UN) Charter and the human rights regulations, an Iranian official said here on Wednesday.

'In the name of human rights, they [the so-called supporters of human rights] kill people,' Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman, Head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization said at the international conference dubbed 'Quds: Capital of Peace of Religions' underway in the Iranian capital.

The US president today, by making unfair decisions, is behaving in such a way as if he were entitled to do whatever he wants, Torkaman said.

On December 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump decided to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Holy Quds.

On December 21, The United Nation's resolution on a motion to reject the US decision on the holy Quds got 128 votes in favor and nine against.

Regarding today's Tehran international conference on Quds, Torkaman said the gathering aims to tell the world that there is no disagreement between the followers of different Islamic religions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, he added, has always stressed the importance of peaceful co-existence between the followers of divine religions.
