Malaysian Lecturer: US sanctions are wrong, immoral & illegal

Kuala Lumpur, Jan 30, IRNA- A Malaysian professor criticized the United States’ intervention in internal affairs of other countries calling it wrong and immoral.

The US misusage of power in the UN Security Council to conduct sanctions against Iran and other countries are wrong, immoral and illegal behaviors, said Professor Hafidzi Mohd Noor in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Monday.

“These sanctions are like declaration of war and they will never bring peace anywhere”, said Professor Noor, lecturer of University of Putra Malaysia and the chairman of non-profit organization “Humanitarian Care Malaysia” known as MyCare.

“The American interventions in internal affairs of countries, especially in the Middle East, are for their regional interest and never for democracy,” he said.

“Middle Eastern countries are rich for their resources such as oil, and the Americans want to control the oil resources, so they can control the world”.

Dr Hafizi who is also a history researcher and has written many books and articles, mentioned about the historical creation of the UN Security Council and stated that the council is “ineffective” to bring peace in the world because the function of it is for the interests of its members, especially the United States.

The Malaysian humanitarian activist who has been in Gaza twice to send humanitarian aid from Malaysia, in regards to the Palestinian issue called for all the Islamic countries must support the Palestinian struggles against the Zionist Regime.

He also expressed his optimistic thoughts over Palestinian conflict after seeing the General Assembly of United Nations vote against occupation of the Zionist Regime in Jerusalem and remarked that as a sign that shows the Zionists’ propaganda has failed to convince the free countries of the world to support them over their occupation in Palestinian lands.
